How to Build a Lead Generation Website Template That Converts Visitors While You’re Logged Off

Updated: Aug 16

If you spent time and money on a "pretty" website template, but it’s sitting online like a digital business card or portfolio, you're missing out on customers searching to buy your product. Your website template should be based on your customers problem and the solution you offer.

You don't need a complex 9-part sales funnel or a custom $5,000 web designer. You need a simple, belief-sequenced website structure that converts passive visitors into subscribers on autopilot.

Why Most Web Design Templates Fail

Website design templates fail to grow your business because they're usually all about design rather than conversion structure. I want you to think about an architect: they design buildings, but a flow engineer actually determines how people move through that building.

It's okay to pick a template that catches your eye and reflects your branding; however, you need to learn conversion marketing if you want to grow your business.

Why Your Homepage Has a High Bounce Rate

Your homepage has a high bounce rate because your customer came to find a solution to their problem, but you only showed them who you were. Talk about their problem and then guide them to the solution you're offering.

Most people make their homepages about themselves and their work. It's natural for humans to only want to talk about themselves, but when you're in business, you've got to learn to speak your customer's language. In my course, I teach you: your customers are just as selfish as you are. So talk about them LOL.

The 4-Section Architecture of a High-Converting Lead Generation Website Template

  1. Hero Section

When a customer lands on your homepage, the first section they should see is the hero section. This is where you put a symptom of their problem. Something relatable to the issues they are having in real time.

  2. Shift Their Belief

Your customer came to your website with a set of beliefs about their problem. Use the next section to shift this belief from "this is why this happens, and this is what to change".

  3. Empathy

Your next section can be empathetic, especially if you're someone who's gone through the same thing. Discuss what your pain was and how you changed the situation. Not every business owner is launching a business from their experience, so this section could be a single review or testimonial of someone else discovering the solution.

  4. Value Offer

How can you help them take the next step towards the solution? Offer something of value that can change their situation now. It can be a trial, a discount, a training, whatever that's a no-brainer to test it out.

Make Your Website Generate Leads on Autopilot

This is the beauty of having digital real estate for your business. You get to collect leads without being logged in manually posting content. Once your template is set up for conversions, you need to connect automations to it.

Your value offer should be connected to an email form that sends them the offer and continues to engage them in your business. Someone who took the first step is most likely interested in the next step. They just need your help making that decision.

Why isn't my Wix or Squarespace template generating leads?

Probably because it's too decorative and lacks conversion marketing. You should grab my free training that includes the template worksheet. Use it to change your website strategy today and see if it converts better in 30 days.
